Why is it so hard to show up for ourselves in the morning?

I spent years waking up anxious, overwhelmed and feeling behind the moment my feet touched the floor.

I attempted to get up earlier each day so I could get a handle of my life.

I felt a bit frenzied as I cleaned, cooked breakfast, started a load of laundry, check emails, and hopped on social media.

All of this busyness and distraction left me feeling irritated, depleted and lost.

I was constantly looking outside of myself for inspiration and guidance. I wanted a richer, deeper experience. I wanted to connect to myself and begin my day with clarity and focus. I was at a loss for what to do to or where to turn to?

Until I found myself.

I met her in the quiet early morning. I found her in the small moments of silence and connection.

What was absent was the noise and external distraction.

The magical element that worked for me was to create a sacred space- just for me.

This place held special, simple elements that I added to the corner next to my wood stove. I fashioned a discarded tree stump to hold these objects. Some days, I only had time to  sit, close my eyes and place a hand on my heart. I enjoyed 3 deep breaths and sealed my practice with a moment of gratitude.

The elements of this practiced have changed over time.  It has included breath work, yoga, meditation, journaling, tarot, and art.

This became my intentional morning ritual.  The time that I gifted myself.

To find quiet.  To listen to my breath. It calmed my anxiety and finally allowed the time and space to listen deeply to the whispering of my intuition and soul.

This stillness slowly transformed the way I showed up in my life. I was more patient, understanding, less judgement and purposeful. My life began to shift and align to my core values and goals.

I would love to show you how to begin your day with more intention and purpose.

Hello! I’m Blythe

I live in the Appalachian Mountains of NE Tennessee. I my spend hiking, journaling, engaging in community, learning more about myself through books and on my yoga mat. I have spent the last 25 years designing and maintaining a sacred space and practice within my home and while traveling. This practice has shifted over the years, but it now involves a daily morning practice leaving me grounded, centered and ready to begin the day with intention.

I love this time for myself, and I’d love to share it with you!
